Los músicos Alexa Tarantino y Steven Feifke transmiten en vivo su música desde su sala de estar y recaudan fondos para artistas mientras lo hacen. En este momento de gran incertidumbre, artistas de todas las disciplinas se están conectando con audiencias en espacios digitales como nunca antes. 

Los artistas visuales están dando recorridos virtuales de sus galerías y más están recurriendo a la venta de trabajos en línea, los autores leen capítulos o poemas de sus libros, y otros están dando presentaciones interactivas a niños que ahora están aprendiendo desde casa. 

A mediados de marzo, la saxofonista de jazz Alexa Tarantino y el pianista y compositor Steven Feifke , han tomado el asunto en sus propias manos al transmitir shows en vivo desde su sala de estar. Tarantino y Feifke han celebrado dos conciertos hasta el momento, con dos más próximos el domingo 29 de marzo y el domingo 5 de abril, y el 25% de todos los ingresos irán a la NYFA, ONG de Artistas en los Estados unidos. Alexa Tarantino : Cuando comenzó toda esta discusión sobre cuarentena y encierro, escuchamos que algunas organizaciones más grandes en Europa estaban usando la transmisión en vivo como una forma de continuar presentando sus programas sin reunir a grandes grupos de personas. Después de regresar de una gira, nos pusimos en cuarentena por razones de seguridad. En un esfuerzo por tocar y actuar para la gente lo más posible, decidimos dar un concierto de dúo en vivo desde nuestro departamento. Sabíamos acerca de la Fundación de las Artes de Nueva York debido a las diversas oportunidades y subvenciones que ofrece la organización para artistas y queríamos ayudar a otros en nuestra situación. Musicians Alexa Tarantino and Steven Feifke stream their music live from their living room and raise artist funds as they do so. In this moment of great uncertainty, artists from all disciplines connect with audiences in digital spaces like never before.

Visual artists are giving virtual recordings of their galleries and more are turning to selling works online, authors are reading chapters or poems from their books, and others are giving interactive presentations to children who are now learning from home. In mid-March, jazz saxophonist Alexa Tarantino and pianist and composer Steven Feifke have taken matters into their own hands by broadcasting live shows from their living room. Tarantino and Feifke have held two concerts so far, with two more coming on Sunday, March 29 and Sunday, April 5, and 25% of all proceeds will go to NYFA, an Artist NGO in the United States. All concerts take place at 8:00 p.m. ITS T. NYFA: Tarantino and Feifke describe how to learn more about how he responded and why these concerts are important now.

Can you tell us more about what inspired your first concert on Sunday, March 15 and why I chose to donate 25% of the proceeds to NYFA? Alexa Tarantino: When this whole quarantine and lockdown discussion started, we heard that some larger organizations in Europe were using the live stream as a way to continue presenting their shows without bringing together large groups of people. After returning from a tour, we were quarantined for security reasons. In an effort to play and perform for people as much as possible, we decided to give a live duo concert from our apartment. We knew about the New York Arts Foundation due to the various opportunities and grants the organization offers for artists and we wanted to help others in our situation. ⏩13 de abril 2020
