PANAMA: SHIPS DELAYED IN THE CANAL DUE TO DROUGHT, CAUSES OF THE  CLIMATE PHENOMENON

PANAMÁ: BUQUES DEMORADOS EN EL CANAL POR SEQUÍA, CAUSAS DEL FENÓMENO CLIMÁTICO  

El presidente de los colombianos Gustavo Petro, con un trino en Twitter, destacó la situación de la ruta marítima, la preocupación del mandatario por la mercadería, el estado de los empresarios y la tripulación de los barcos en el canal.

La restricción del uso del Canal de Panamá a 32 barcos por día, además de que alrededor de 200 barcos quedaron atrapados, luego de que las autoridades marítimas acortaran los límites de acceso a la vía acuática por la sequía.Aproximadamente 36 barcos en total pueden pasar diariamente en esta época del año en condiciones climáticas normales. Sin embargo, el miércoles, la Autoridad del Canal de Panamá notificó que extenderá las limitaciones hasta el 2 de septiembre.Además, según las restricciones actuales, las embarcaciones no pueden exceder un calado máximo de 44 pies (13,41 metros), por lo que los propietarios de embarcaciones deben transportar menos carga o cambiar a rutas alternativas que pueden hacer que los viajes sean más largos y costosos.
